Right-click Options

The following options are available when right-clicking a cell, range of cells or chart from within the XLReporter Design Studio.

Cell or Range of Cells

Data Connect

  • Add/Modify

This option opens the dialog to configure a Data Connection. If the cell already contains a Data Connection, this allows you to modify that connection otherwise on OK a new one is added.

If the Report Period and Data Interval were specified when the template was created, the Target section for a new connection may be defaulted based on those settings.

  • Data Group

If the Default Connector was specified when the template was created, this option is available. When selected, the Data Group Builder for the connector is opened. If the cell contains a Data Connection to a group of the connector, it is opened to modify, otherwise a new data group is configured.

If this is a new data group, on close of the group builder, a new Data Connection is created targeted to the cell selected. The other target settings are based on the Report Period and Data Interval as specified when the template was initially created.

Data Manage

  • Add

This option opens the dialog to add a new Management Connection. The range selected is used as the default range for the selected Type.

  • Data Export

From this option, a set of Data Export management functions can be selected. Each option opens the Data Management dialog to configure a new connection with as many settings defaulted as possible.

Chart

  • From Data Connection

If the selected cell contains a data connection to a data group, this option produces a line chart with every selected tag in the group as a series with the X-axis set as the column with the timestamps (if configured).

  • Express Chart

This option opens the Express Chart dialog to create a chart with a few simple selections.

  • Blank Chart

This option creates a blank chart that can then be configured as needed.

Formula

  • From Data Connection

If the selected cell contains a data connection to a data group, this option prompts to select one or more summary formulas. Once selected, each formula is applied to every column that will contain tag data from the group.

  • Function Builder

This opens the Function Builder dialog that can be used to configure a function for the cell.
