Overview
The following documents how the XLReporter product behaves just before your subscription license expires as well as what happens after expiration occurs.
The current registration status is always displayed on the right side of the XLReporter Project Explorer.
Before Expiration
30 days prior to license expiration, once a day, XLReporter will post a notification of how long the license has before it expires in the following places:
The Windows Action Center as a notification
The Windows Event Viewer
The XLReporter Status Log Viewer
On the last day before expiration, these notifications occur every two hours.
After Expiration
Once the license is expired, it runs in grace mode for 30 days to allow for some time to process subscription renewal. During this time, alerts are posted daily in the same locations noted above.
After the 30 day grace period, if the subscription has not been renewed, the software reverts to unregistered status. It can be run in 2 hour demo mode as it could prior to applying the license.
Note
Starting with XLReporter version 2025 R2, if the license is not renewed after the grace period ends, scheduled reports will still be generated. However, no design tools will be enabled so no new reports can be created, nor any existing reports will be modified.
