The installation prompts for the Edition to install.

The following are available:
Local Edition
This is a standalone version that does not require IIS. A windows client is provided on the workstation where XLReporter is installed for on-demand reporting and viewing.
Distributed Edition
This is a distributed version that does require IIS. A windows client is provided on the workstation where XLReporter is installed for on-demand reporting and viewing. Additional roaming clients are provided with features that depend on the product license.
In case of a distributed system, the xlrWeb virtual directory is always created.
If you would like to access this XLReporter site from the SmartSights Mobile app and the machine has internet access, check the Install SmartSights Edge Gateway option, otherwise leave it unchecked. If you are leaving it unchecked because there is no internet access, you can install the Edge Gateway by itself by running this installation on the machine and under the SmartSights Edge Gateway section, select For Mobile App.
Windows Client
This is a windows client for the Distributed Edition.
SmartSights Edge Gateway
For Email Distribution
This is the email gateway installation for users that want to email reports automatically through XLReporter and either do not have direct access to the internet from the machine where XLReporter is installed or to use with an Office 365 email server.

For Mobile App
To access XLReporter from the SmartSights Mobile app, this Edge Gateway must be installed to establish connectivity between the XLReporter site and the app. This must be installed for communication between XLReporter and the mobile app. This must be installed on a system with internet access. If the system where XLReporter is installed has internet access, this can be installed on the same machine if it was not installed as part of the Distributed Edition installation.
