Prerequisites

In order for OPC UA clients like XLReporter to connect to the WinCC OPC UA Server you must have the WinCC Standard Protocol Connectivity option from Siemens SIMATIC.

Server parameters are set up by going to the System Management Panel. Under the Driver OPC tab, click the OPC UA Server button.

Configure the port number and security settings here. It is not recommended to set security to None unless you are testing or performing diagnostics.

The default port number is 4962.

In the WinCC OA console, add the OPC UA Server Manager. This is what starts the server at runtime.

For each data point you want exposed in the OPC UA Server, add it to the appropriate OPCUA group. For history, the _archive configs should also be added to the datapoints to expose.
