Distributed Installation Upgrade
When upgrading an existing distributed installation system, follow the WIN-911 Upgrade to 2021 or WIN-911 2025 Upgrade Guide steps on each machine with a WIN-911 module currently installed. There are port/firewall requirements that may have changed and need to be reviewed (listed below). These can also be found in the WIN-911 Distributed Installation article (Ports and Firewalls section).
Ports and Firewalls
TCP 4018 – WIN-911 Certificates, this is used for all certificate traffic between WIN-911 systems. Used during WIN-911 installations.
TCP 4020 – WIN-911 Navigation, this is used by all WIN-911 Modules.
TCP 4021-4100 – WIN-911 Module port dynamically assigned.
TCP 1433 – MS SQL Server, modules will access the SQL Server over this port for configuration information when on the same network. Not needed when SQL is locally installed.
TCP 1434 – MS SQL Server, modules will access the SQL Server over this port for configuration information when on different networks. See Configuring Remote Access to a SQL Server for more information.
TCP 22350 – CodeMeter License communication, for sending licensing from the primary computer to the computers with the other modules.
