Stack Light Integration

StacklightIntegration.png

Stacklights can be activated based on custom logic and ticket information using PEER™ IoT. SmartSights partners with Banner Automation to provide wireless stacklight and pushbutton hardware for implementing this feature, if you don't already have hardware in place. Banner also provides a wireless touchbutton/stacklight combination device for triggering ticket creation and modification.

KepServerEX is leveraged to provide communications to and from Banner's DXM wireless controller. PEER™ IoT sends and receives stacklight and pushbutton signals, which the controller then communicates via RF (2.4 GHz or 900 MHz) to the wireless devices.

An example use-case would be:

  1. Ticket is raised in PEER™ by an operator, reporting a problem that brings the line down

  2. PEER™ IoT is invoked, which communicates to KepServerEX

  3. KepServerEX sends a signal to the Banner DXM wireless controller

  4. DXM controller notifies the stacklight located near the line to flash the red light

  5. Maintenance acknowledges the ticket using the PEER™ interface on their phone or tablet

  6. PEER™ IoT transitions the stacklight to glow red, and stop flashing

  7. The line stoppage is cleared, a replacement part is installed, and the line starts running again

  8. The Maintenance Manager closes the ticket, citing the reason for the outage, the action taken, and the recommendations for preventative action

  9. PEER™ IoT turns off the red light, and re-activates the green light indicating normal operation
