Austin, Texas. August 23, 2017 – WIN-911 today announced the availability of a new “direct connect” for Wonderware System Platform 2014 R2 and 2012 R2. The new software means greater ease of use for people setting up alarm notification in a System Platform environment and more accurate and effective alarm systems for end user operators.
The direct connect allows systems integrators working with WIN-911 to subscribe to alarms in Wonderware System Platform. WIN-911 filters those alarms during run-time, which means application engineers do not have to separately import and maintain a list of attributes/tags in WIN-911. Users can filter alarms in System Platform based on criteria, for example ‘area’, ‘object/attribute name’, and ‘priority’ to rapidly locate key alarms. Because subscriptions provide a dynamic connection between WIN-911 and System Platform, when an application engineer creates new alarms in System Platform, they’ll automatically be processed by WIN-911 without configuration changes. Integrators can create as many subscriptions as necessary and assign them to different strategies enabling different contact groups for real-time dynamic escalation.
“Wonderware System Platform is a major SCADA platform and companies across the globe take advantage of its modern features to drive operational excellence,” said Greg Jackson, WIN-911 CEO. “Our decades long technology partnership and collaboration with Wonderware enables us to create alarm notification software that works seamlessly with their remote sensing and monitoring solutions.”
Features
Bi-directional notifications and automatic reconnect
The new direct connect for System Platform works with WIN-911 Standard, Interactive and Advanced products. Companies benefit from bi-directional notifications which support alarm acknowledgment and real-time condition reports as well as automatic reconnection if a signal is lost between the two systems.
Remote browser-based configuration
System integrators benefit from remotely accessible, browser-based configuration in a run-time all the time environment where new configurations take effect immediately. Using a drag and drop interface, integrators can design multiple workflows, routing notifications by severity, type, role and based on dynamic conditions.
Real-time dynamic escalation
Roles can be assigned to personnel to ensure alarms are sent to the correct people. Complex schedules are easier to build and together these features enable dynamic escalation. For example, given roles like ‘engineering,’ ‘maintenance,’ or ‘operations’ based on the type of alarm condition, WIN-911 dynamically determines who is available from the appropriate group based on the schedule. The right people get the right alarms at the right time.
