The Grandstream UCM6202 VoIP PBX uses analog phone lines to place and receive phone calls. Since the device supports SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), it can be used by WIN-911 as an alternative to TAPI modems anywhere analog phone lines are available to make phone calls.

External Serial Modems
Multiple modems can be configured for modem redundancy, alarm acknowledgments, and real-time reporting requests. Serial to USB converters are shipped with serial modems. The user is responsible for activating the modem with a cellular service provider. An unlimited SMS messaging plan is recommended.
