A WIN-911 team took home top prize at the 48-hour Aveva Paris Hackathon with its alerts notification app for Wonderware Online Insight.

In Paris this past April, engineers from across the globe came together to code, hack, and construct practical new software in less than 48 hours. The teams then quickly pitched their products to a panel of Aveva judges.
A team from WIN-911, consisting of director of engineering Cody Bann and senior software engineer Shushil Shahukhal came out on top with their new InTouch OMI app for Wonderware Online Insight.
“We reverse engineered non-public portions of the Wonderware Online API RESTful interface and utilized it in a way not intended by the original interface authors,” Bann said.
With a bit more fine-tuning, Bann surmises the app could be added as a module to the WIN-911 platform, allowing Wonderware Online Insight users advanced Voice, Email, SMS, and Mobile notifications.
“We successfully completed the app thanks to terrific guidance from the Wonderware team and copious amount of French espresso. We had a lot of fun, and we look forward to defending our title next year,” Bann said.
