WIN-911 has the extreme honor of having its alarm notification software installed in the new water cooling system at the Masjid al-Haram, also known as the Sacred Mosque or the Grand Mosque, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Masjid al-Haram is the largest mosque in the world and houses the Kaaba, the object every Muslim faces during ritual prayer. During the Hajj (a time when all Muslims are encouraged to make the pilgrimage to Mecca), the mosque can hold as many as two million worshippers. Overall, the facility encompasses close to 100 acres, including both an indoor and outdoor praying area.
The supervisory control and data (SCADA) system used to monitor the mosque’s water supply is now being monitored by WIN-911’s alarm notification software, enabling the system to operate as a prevention control mechanism. The SCADA system will be used to test different variables in the mosque’s water supply and, whenever the system registers a potential problem with the ph, sourcing, distribution, or cleanliness, WIN-911’s mobile alert system will instantly distribute this information to the appropriate people, by both voice and text messages, letting officials know exactly what is happening and where, saving valuable time in diagnosing and isolating the problem.
