Sage Clarity, headquartered in Chicago at TeamWorking by TechNexus, streamlines the collection and analysis of manufacturing data. It helps businesses identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and reduce downtime. Its goal is to help drive digital transformations in manufacturing facilities.
The acquisition by SmartSights, a provider of operational intelligence software for industrial teams, is the latest stop in the company’s journey. And Chicago coworking space TeamWorking played an integral role in giving Sage Clarity the space and community it needed to grow, CEO John Oskin (pictured) said.
Oskin said it’s the technical community environment that sets TeamWorking apart from other shared workspaces. He was able to turn to other executives in the building who could offer tactical advice on a range of different business challenges.
“It’s an example of relationships that probably would not have been forged without the TechNexus community,” Oskin said.
More than 80 growing businesses call TeamWorking home, including firms like Ocient, Network Perception, TechNexus Venture Collaborative, Truck Smarter and more.
Being based in Chicago has also proven beneficial for Sage Clarity, Oskin said, thanks to the pool of talent and the city’s central location.
“Chicago is a large metropolitan community,” he said. “It helps with attracting talent.”
Sage Clarity, the third business founded by Oskin, grew without venture funding and was profitable from day one, he said.
